The Unfinished Obelisk, Aswan Egypt
BackThe ancient quarries which furnished Egypt with granite can still been behind modern Aswan. This is where the famous "unfinished obelisk" is to be found. It would have been 42 meters high and would have weighed 1,150 tons, but it had cracked in several places and was never detached from the rock.
