I'm sad to say I am only now truly discovering Jeff Buckley. I have listened to the odd track by him in the past, but now I truly appreciate his talent. I love this song so much, he was an amazing talent. and this world was robbed of him far too soon. long may his music live on xx

I'm loving this song more than his cover of Hallelujah. (Personaly, my favorite version of Hallelujah is the one by Rufus Wainwright).

How is it ridiculous? He stripped the song down to the bone and rebuilt it in his own image. He did that with every song he covered. I say he re-wrote, meaning that it sounds like a completely original song. The music is his. The lyrics, merely, are Cohen's.

that's a ridiculous comment to say Buckley re-wrote the song. It's a beautiful interpretation of a song Leonard Cohen wrote. end of story.

This year I heared Cohen sing this song live at 3 occasions. And believe me : he sings it as strong, completely different, bot strong.

Jeff did some great stuff and his early death robbed a generation of agreat singer song writer...but to say he practically wrote Hallelujah is going a bit far and some....Leonard Cohen has to take credit for the song Mojo...he may not have sung it as well as Jeff but the main body of the work is still present in Jeff's version
