We die from cardiac arrest bc of smoke inhalation down the road.. and 50% of the fire calls i go on the guys aren't wearing proper PPE or SCBA

The high cardiac arrest numbers are due to the high levels of exertion, wearing the extra 75 pounds of gear and the elevated body temps that FF perform their duties under , 104 degrees and higher.

like what crack said, stupidity, some guys arnt wearing full PPE and also no breathing ap., and thats why we have statistics of 100 firefighters die every year and 20% of them die during onroute to the scene because sirencide or accidental etc...

everyone has there own opinion when it comes to interior firefighting and calculated risk....having no idea whatsoever what the situations are and whats involved exactly, i think it shows poor judgment on your part to monday morning quaterback this video. These are some of the bravest and most well trained fireman in the world so lets leave it up to them to decide when and where to risk it all....RIP 343.... god bless our fallen brothers

I am gobsmacked. Not doubting the bravery (i'm an Aussie ff) but there is a bit of stupidity in there too. Lots of going into places that you shouldn't be going into in the first place. Where are the helmets? The guy in the last seen coming down the ladder doesn't even have BA on!!! Overiding priority is your own safety, followed by the safety of your crew. All I see is people doing things and having other people risk their lives to save them. Flame suit on as I feel a barrage of abuse coming
