did you even listen to anything he said? "while YOU make think America is tyranny just remember at least YOU have the freedom to SAY THAT"....and why whouldn't he? a modern day tyranny isn't going to be straight up violent, its a subtle form of slavery, and he has broken it down beautifully. eduction, at the level currently being peddled in the US, sets the bar, and the bar is too low.....time to wake up my friend. Well said George, we miss you man.

Its not tyranny but our country is drifting more and more into socialism

Okay Mr Carlin with all do respect and to the individual who posted this, while Carlin made a lot of good points, this time he went TOO fucking far, if you think the US is in fact TYRRANY, which it's FUCKING NOT!!! It's those political scumbuckets who try and exploit America's freedoms for their own personal gain,, AND THAT GOES FOR PEOPLE ON BOTH SIDES!!!! And don't forget this George, that while YOU make think America is tyranny just remember at least YOU have the freedom to SAY THAT!!!

Very true. Tila Tequila CAN'T sing, act or really do anything besides pose naked and flaunt being bisexual (though its in the whoring sense, not the artistic like David Bowie) yet she's treated like this megastar just because an army of pervs befriended her on myspace. BUT we do have people who hate her and faux celebs like her for the right reasons, so NOT EVERY AMERICAN IS LIKE THIS.

Hi there and I concur that we are not comfortable in our skin anymore. Our moral decay has been going on for quite some time and hardly anyone has even taken a look at it,politicians, regular people and even the religious society. It is a sad sad thing for our country and it has gotten so far out of hand that I doubt that it can be fixed. I used to ask my son to have a kid but no more. I don't want any blood of mine growing up in the U.S. anymore. Again, sad thing to say. Thanks for the insight.

Case in point Sicko, now i am a Conservative, this means something different our side of the pond,i love the NHS,it is not perfect, put we believe inherrantly that is is not your fault if you get sick, and the state has a responsibility, In USA Sicko is pulled apart, put under a microscope, both sides spin in their way, In UK we just happen to believe that a healthy society is good for everyone,None of the 3 main UK party's have a policy to change NHS,Conservatives,Labour,LibDems, its a right here.

1delly,the problem is with showing it all over the USA,over the last decade anything that critisises the USA,even coming from a American is used as political ammunution for one side or the other. We English perhaps because of the age of this country, are more happy to laugh at ourselves, nobody is perfect,if you recognise there is a problem however you can fix it,looking as a outsider, the USA dosn't seem very comfortable in its skin anymore.

It was Dave Chappelle in his 2004 stand up "For What It's Worth" when he is talking about people worshiping celebrities. George Carlin speaks a lot of truth, but too many people in America are caught up in their preconceived ideas about what to believe. Find the truth withing. Peace!

real talk!!!!

Do you believe that "your god" would like you saying something like that? Aren't Christians supposed to be forgiving -like-turn the other cheek- and not to think ill thoughts about someone else? Don't think that God would approve of that comment. If you don't like Carlin, then that is your choice but to damn someone is only in God's hands. I don't know, but I hope that the hatred in your heart turns to love in time. Peace out and think positively!

Yup, it is funny but, also, thought provoking at the same time! I am glad that you liked it and do you not agree that more people should see it? I do and I think that it will appeal to the masses as it is a comedy but it hits home. I love that line , too! Peace out! talking about the movie "Idiocracy"
