Precisely simion11, The lionesses do all the easy work killing prey who can only run away, the males are the ones who kill serious threats. Plus, it makes sense population wise. They only really need one male lion, but because they have so few the males become more valuable and too costly to lose, hense the female hunting.

A lion only does that for like 3 yrs in his life. After that he fights to the death defending his pride or gets beat and goes off alone and die. Give the lion some slack. He fought for the right to lounge off.
