not true... they just dont hire people that know their stuff... the sad thing is when applying, it asks if you have any certifications...
devo85x (October 12th, 2008 @ 7:04 am)
because they arent A+ certified... at least not with the new test i had to take

then again some of the pc gamers just buy a good dell or something and some pc gamers that are acutally good work there... its just luck i guess (i could never get a job there and i garontee i know more than those morons (talking about the techs at the store, not pc gamers)

i proved that to geek squad and they still didnt hire me... im 17 so im old enough, and i fix computers at my school (people bring them in for free or almost free repair to my computer class... im in the 3rd year class and know the most out of the people taking it... probibly the 3rd or 4th overall in the school) but nope... didnt get the job after applying twice and being willing to come for minimum wage... these companies just suck

well let them show a A+ certification that they are certified to fix PC or laptops

You're better off taking it to a PC gamer that you might know. Coz we all know a lot more than half the wankers who claim to be PC experts.

A stick of ram doesn't cost enough to warrant buying a new computer unless the computer is so old that you need a new one regardless. And that one guy might have not been trying to rip anyone off, but he sure as hell didn't know what he was talking about. You don't just go naming off random parts because you think the customer would have no idea. On top of that he would have had no idea if the hard drive was bad or not, the damn computer wouldn't even give video.

these guys are not trying to rip anyone off basically computers are not worth repairng unless you need to recover your data from the hard drive in which case you would need a dust free room to dis-assemble a hard drive, in my experience the most common cause of failure is the power supply or ram. Ram is diifuclt to diaganose beacuse it will cause no video

Why would an A+ guy lie to a poor helpless noob pc user.
