why so, maybe his voice is a little different from other artists, but its his lyrics and intentions of the song, like one of my favs, bob dylan wasnt a great singer, its his songs and the meaning of them that captivates his audience. go beyond hearing the song, and listen to it, theres a difference between hearing and listening

Well, I think he's just using irony to get his point across. He's singing about how people change to fit into the media mold, but he is doing the same thing in the video. I think they dressed him like that on purpose.

Right, the further information explains what the characters in the video are doing. That does not explain why they take a normally down-to-earth singer and turn him into a guy in expensive clothes with a styled woman's haircut. If anything he should represent the opposite of the people in the video, looking the way he normally does. They tried to make him look like a pretty celebrity which ruined the whole point of the video.

What about reading the further information of the video ? It says "It is our routines and our comforts that allow us to ignore social issues. For some of us, it is our privilege to be ignorant." And when _I_ saw at first that happy family at the full filled table and later that little african kid at the same table. I really felt guilty for not caring about such people. I really think it's a great video and it's so going along with the further information.
