Let's give thanks to our brave soldiers who gave their life to secure and preserve our independence, freedom & independence. Independence, freedom (and prosperity) are linked; and the NAU, NAFTA, WTO & other policies which make America dependent on dictatorships like China & oil-producing countries are among the greatest threats to our independence, freedom & prosperity. Open borders also destroy our independence, freedom & prosperity. Let's resolve to stop these threats, take action now!

Although late-twentiethcentury Republican presidents, like Ronald Reagan and George Herbert Walker Bush, embraced "free trade" with enthusiasm, the GOP once had a different opinion. Republican presidents -- from Abraham Lincoln to Theodore Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover -- proudly declared themselves "protectionists" and dismissed Democratic opponents as "English free traders." Free trade, they said, led to low wages and "ruin."

"I do not know much about the tariff, but I know this much, when we buy manufactured goods abroad, we get the goods and the foreigner gets the money. When we buy the manufactured goods at home, we get both the goods and the money." — Abraham Lincoln

Libertarians (free traders) claim to be conservative. I'm not a conservative, I'm a Republican. So don't call me a conservative again if I have to be lumped in with the lunatic free trader Libertarians.

NAFTA, WTO and other trade treaties have placed every job in America in danger. Our middle class jobs are forced into direct competition with sweatshop and prison labor in China and 3rd world countries. No job can ever compete with sweatshop/prison labor and the complete lack of health, safety and pollution laws in China and the 3rd world. Urge Congress and all candidates to scrap WTO & NAFTA, and rebuild American manufacturing and jobs before the recession turns into a depression.

You don't trade with someone who doesn't trade with you. The concept of a balance of trade was thrown out the window because of Wall Street. This amounted to market arbitrage for the short term profits of Wall Street.

The sad thing is that is true as this is, none of the big three running for president will do anything. John McCain who is "supposed" to be from the "conservative" party favors this. I no longer fear that this nation will economically implode, I know it!! The American people as a whole are too dumb to see it coming. Maybe president Obama can think up a good speech for that day.

The U.N. needs to put sanctions on China against unfair competition and violations of WTO regulations including the sale and distribution of contaminated food products, hazardous porducts, including those containing lead or mercury, unsafe working conditions for Chinese workers, unfair labor costs of Chinese workers, health and safety inspection violations of their working factories and environmental regulations concerning global emission standards.

Its refreshing to see Conservatives recognizing the enemy to Americans on both sides of aisle which is unregulated Trans Global Corporations.
