My MRI's showed that I had a torn meniscus on the [extreme] lateral side of my knee. My surgeon explained to me that he would have to access whether or not there was enough blood supply to warrant saving (suturing) it or if he would have to [simply] cut it off. Since the tissue will not regenerate, I advocated for the former option. I have since learned about the "debribing" process. Moral of the story: ALWAYS get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before letting some1 hack off a chunk of your knee cartilage!

Yeah man don't worry about it...I just had Artho 4 weeks ago on my medial meniscus, and the worst part of it was when they put in the IV (which wasn't bad at all). The nurse woke me up after the surgery telling me they had finished. I guess I responded saying "yeah right" because I didn't feel a thing, first time in 5 months my knee is pain free. Now I have physical therapy to look forward too :(. But overall not bad at all, they say I'll be back for wrestling season (just 7-8 weeks after).

Good point I went to My Orthopaedic Dr today and after my exam and the viewing of my mri and plain xrays. He said its time for Arthroscopy. I have had my problem since Nov 2007 and at first exercise and Meds seem to work. But back in September the Pain got worse and here I am 18 days from out patient surgery. My main problem is a Meniscus tear then cartilage Wear and last some Patella Problems. I'm glad you posted this Video for it makes it easier for me to relax. So I Thank You photo2c

Its best to be seen and find out what is wrong - having options now is far better than finding out later something less complicated would have been an option if you came in sooner.

Funny what brings a person to a certain video. My knees are killing me and they 'rachet' something wicked when I go up the stairs. I think it's just a matter of time before I have to have something done but I don't know how long I should wait.

My orthopedic surgeon ruined my day on Thursday saying that he has to remove all the broken bits in my medial meniscus and even some part of the lateral. Seeing this video gives me some hope for an alternative.
