I say go with the Archos 5, it has a new UI, faster processors, more RAM, and it looks better And of course the Archos 5 has a 5" screen, instead of 4.3" of the 605, that's why it's called the Archos 5 and not 606. Now they did take off the rocker buttons to make the screen bigger, but with the new UI, I don't see the need for the buttons.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I have another question. Are you familiar with Archos 5? I want to know the screen difference between Archos 5 and Archos 605 WiFi I mean is the resolution better on the archos 5 or is it the same as the Archos 605 WiFi? THANKS. I really want to buy the Archos 5, but it's so expensive!

When looking at that Cowon you talk about, honestly, I want one now, I'd trade my Archos for it in a second. The fact that it runs Windows CE man that's a big big plus in my book. Now the Archos has up on the Cowon the fact that it has a much lower price per gigabyte and I don't think you can record tv on a Cowon. But since it's using Windows CE, I don't know if you can find some program to allow it to do that.

It can record in up to 2.5mb/s (DVD quality is 3.0mb/s, vhs is 1.0 mb/s) and I've never seen any lag with it, hell I often use it to record the video game footage for my other videos. The Archos has a 4.3" 800x480 screen while the ipod touch has a 3.5" 480x320 screen. So the Archos does have a better screen hands down

Hey I have two questions. Does the DVR station record in DVD quality (like pretty perfect quality) with no lags? and does the archos have a better screen than the ipod touch (in viewing photos/videos) please do reply!

hey how are you? i;m peruvian, you seem to know a lot about these things, so i just wanted to know if you could help me. What do you think about the cowon q5w? I'm actually planning to get one PMP but i've had some problems deciding between the archos 705 and the cowon q5w, i don't know what's your opinion, but if you could helped, that would be great! my principal problems when i have to choose are: memory, bluetooth, windows-linux, interface. Well really, so did the archos 605 and 705, it's not an open linux so to speak though know what I mean.

I do not mean to continue to harp on the Archos, but when you mentioned the Asus Eee PC, the first thing I thought of was Linux(I was recently helping a girl on YT with her Asus). And if you did not know; the new Archos 5, and 7 are both running Linux. ;O) I just do not know what kernel version though. Katalyzt
