... of drinking alcohol and its societal impact - as we have been doing with cigarretes and tobacco. But well done calling me an idiot (while using the possessive word "your") while making a fool of yourself by displaying ignorance.

SkullyMan, if you want to get into the debate and criticize my points, why don't you read what we've been saying first? I must have explained more than 5 times that I don't think alcohol and cigarettes should remain legal. However, they're more popular than weed and any immediate, comprehensive attempt to ban them would likely fail and lower the chance of future success in preventing drug use in society. Hence why we must take the time to seriously engage in starting to teach the dangers...

Well what function does alcohol have in our society? It's legal. the effect alcohol has on your motor skills is much more significant compared to pot, so why is one legal and the other contraband? And by the way, recreational marijuana has the same use as cigarettes, alcohol and any other legal substance, its a reward that people can give themselves. With your argument we should make cigarettes illegal as well. Your an idiot.

... Plus, axe use does not cause dependence or addiction. "You are confusing getting high with impairment" Being high on marijuana means you are impaired. Saying otherwise indicates you do not listen to science.

"you have absolutely NOTHING to back that up" And here's proof that your aren't paying attention to what I'm saying. Come on man, if you even want to stand a chance of winning this argument you'll have to listen to my points. "An axe can be a murder weapon, are you going to want to ban axes?" Already been through this. First off, axes have uses in society, recreational marijuana smoke does not. Furthermore, axes are not mind-altering substances that impair people for weeks on end...

A country running under your logic would function terribly. If all we ever did was sit around and direct blame at people we'd have the same problems for all eternity. Blame doesn't solve problems. You have to make the effort to prevent them. Fighting the use of recreational marijuana by keeping it illegal is a preventative effort. Again, your experience is absolutely worthless evidence. Why would you even mention it? It's completely unreliable and useless. Surely you realize that?
PeoplesVendetta (October 6th, 2008 @ 1:43 pm)
"I'm just blaming marijuana, not a person." Marijuana is an inanimate object. It cannot be blamed for anything until it is abused, like ANYTHING else. This is what makes your argument ridiculous. An axe can be a murder weapon, are you going to want to ban axes? You want the substance to not be harmful? Educate people.
PeoplesVendetta (October 6th, 2008 @ 1:33 pm)
Of course its about blame. When it goes wrong, SOMEONE is to blame. And that blame ultimately goes to the person doing it, not the person they saw do it. Its about responsibility for your own actions. "preventing the spread of a harmful substance" is a subjective comment and a useless argument considering the fact that there are thousands of things that can potentially harm you if mistreated. Like ANYTHING, marijuana can be harmful if mistreated.

um do some research before saying anything
Kizzerius (October 5th, 2008 @ 5:16 pm)
"I know I'm right because of that experience" Personal experience is nearly worthless as evidence. "making the same comments I shot down over and over" You haven't shot down any of my comments. Whenever I post something you just say "YOU'RE JUST A FASCIST MORON YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND LIBERTY!" "OWN ACTIONS are to be blamed on SOMEONE ELSE" Blamed? I'm just blaming marijuana, not a person. This isn't about blaming people, it's about preventing the spread of a harmful substance.

well for one thing marijuana is a depressant the same as alcohol, look it up. sounds like your the one that never smoked any. when i was smoking it there was no concentration on anything your response times were low. in edmonton right now theres a man getting charged for vehicle manslaughter after killing 2 people driving on the wrong side of the road and admitting to just finished smoking 2 joints witch showed on a blood test edmonton sun newspaper sept 16 read it if you want.

Being impaired means unable to fuction. Its quite a claim of yours to say "theres no denying that" when you clearly have no clue what its like. Being stoned is not like being drunk. You dont stagger or lose balance. The worst that happens is you get sleepy. You are confusing getting high with impairment. By that definition of yours, having one beer means youre impaired. watch this video: /watch?v=t3zou4F00Ic
