It is ridiculous how these gun nuts complain how they won't be able to buy more guns now that Obama is President-elect...people die everyday because of lack of gun control...these gun-nuts have no IDEA how many people die due to lack of gun control in inner city areas...GUN CONTROL IS A NECESSITY IN THIS COUNTRY...no one wants to take away your guns but stop bitching about the fact that it may be harder for you to buy your fifth assault rifle to shoot bottles in your backyard.

This war is against a domestic enemy. "Liberal Democrats". So until you start attacking their savior we need to remove their base. "Anti-American Citizens" We need to get voting records and use them to compile a list of Dems. Then remove them from our country. We have 65+ million strong and thats only conservatives. "yes WE can". and "yes we will". It starts when BO pushes for gun bans and chops the bill of rights. We're already collecting all the firearms. It's on communists.

It's actually clear if you understand that the mention of a well-regulated militia is part of a preamble. The right of the People to keep and bear arms was needed to establish a well-regulated militia that ensures the security of a free state. "Well-regulated," back then, meant well-trained and well-equipped as opposed to being regulated by a superior authority. And, the 2nd must stay in context with the rest of the Bill of Rights: describing individual rights and limits to Federal powers.

I think the value of entering into a debate on a short-answer forum like this, particularly when everyone is already set in their opinions and only interested in expressing them, is limited. Suffice to say, from my research and understanding of the matter, and from many of the rulings of the US Supreme Court, the idea of 'militia' and 'the people' is not as cut and dry contextually or legally as what you may think or what Madison, Hamilton or Jay may seem to indicate. But there you go. :)

On the contrary, I'm anything but 'brainwashed'. I'm a political scientist currently at the University of Leeds in the UK, having attained two Bachelor degrees, one in cultural studies and one in International Politics, a Masters degree in Military Strategy and 'New' Wars, and a Doctorate in Military Occupations and 'State Building'. I have of course studied all the Federalist Papers and the US Consitution at length, specifically with regard to the formation of of Multi-state confederations.

Try reading the federalist papers and all the many quotes from our founders about the peoples right to arms, then you will understand that the militia is we the people.
